Rules and Regulations of the Site

An E-mail must be sent in order to to request your photo be uploded. A watermark must be added your photo, if no watermark is present it will be added to the photo via photoshop to keep away copyright infringment.

Cloudy day shots: as long as i can see a train in the photo and the lighiting and colors are good for a cloudy day shot i dont care.

Backlit:unless heavily shadowed its fine if the coupler is fully lit and the nose is partially shadowed but still noticeable it is ok. Now if its fully lit then awesome!

Cropping/Composition: im no expert on this so you will be notified if your picture needs to be recropped

Angle's:Going away shots, ground level shots are ok, anything but a roster shot...please seriously!

Freight Cars: If it says bnsf or csx or up or ns on the side then its not ok. Chessie System, Clinchfeild, N&W, Southern, Family Lines, Seaboard, SCL, etc are ok but keep it to a bare minimum. (unless its a caboose of course)

Image Quality: a picture taken with a DSLR or a SLR or some sort of SLR point and shoot like device should be ok.......if you want to use your camera phone or your sisters pink little 6 mp point and shoot for railroad photography....well thats just scary.

Manipulation: Black and White is ok.

Editing: when editing images make shure your using a quality post processing program such as Corel Paint Shop Pro, or Adobe Elements 6, or Adobe Photoshop Lightroom. They are your best bet imo. Not that free trial CVS program or the useless program that came with your camera.

Photo Captions:Any form of L33t Speak added to a photo captions such as. OMGZ!!1!! or LOLCOW, LOLCAKES, LOLSAUSAGE,LMAO ROTFL, etc will be edited out of your caption along with any profanity or potty humor .

Heat Distortion:if it looks like your trying to bake your train in an oven more than likely it wont be published.

Grain/Noise: if your train looks like it was shot on sandpaper in present day pictures it might or might not get published. It depends on the age of the photo.

A word about the contributing process....

I respect people who go out and photograph trains I am not asking you to shoot for this website or any other website. Shoot trains for yourself. Cloudy days, rain, fog, snow etc. Go out and have fun thats what this hobby is about.

But please as I am only one person send one picture at a time, and dont be alarmed if it may take more that 24 to 48 hours to reveiw your photo.

Any other questions you have ask me through msn messenger. Please do not fill up my inbox with questions

enjoy.

Wayne.
